Hello everyone,
I never thought in a million years I'd be writing something like this; however, here we are.
My brother, William Aden, was recently diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma back in March 2026. William is a newlywed to his beautiful wife, Ayla Aden. They have a 3-year-old and a growing family with a baby on the way!
William noticed a pretty large lump at the base of his neck by his shoulder a few months back. After a ton of appointments, blood tests, scans, and a biopsy, we got his official diagnosis at the end of March. We met up with an oncologist and got his treatment plan. He had a port surgically put in his chest in April and began chemotherapy two days later. William has a total of 12 treatments to do over the months to come and a long road to recovery. He has so far done 2 out of the 12 treatments.
My brother is one of the most powerful, strong, well-behaved, devoted fathers and husbands you could ever ask for. His drive to provide, protect, and lead his family is something I have always admired about him. Watching your younger brother become such an inspiration to many has been one of our family's best achievements.
The last several weeks/months have been more overwhelming than I can even put into words. My family is taking things one day at a time. We are staying hopeful and focusing on getting him healthy again while trying to keep life as normal as possible for the Aden tribe.
Unfortunately, due to the intensity of his treatments, the port in his heart, and the toll cancer is taking on his body, he is unable to work. Being the sole provider of his family the financial stress is the LAST thing I want my brother and his family worrying about as they manage harder battles each day.
Despite everything, he continues to surprise me in his darkest moments. William is a fighter; his greatest motivation is being there to watch his children grow and to support his incredible wife through the arrival of their new baby.
Any support, prayers, or kindness means more than words can express. I know we have such a village out there, and as everyone has their own life struggles, problems, blessings, ups and downs, I kindly ask you to be patient with my family, allow grace, hold us in your thoughts and prayers, and if you have a little extra love to spread, help refill my brother's cup as I like to say how he unintentionally drains his. We love you all. Thank you!
