Hello all. I come to you in hopes of helping a family that is close to all our hearts.
Life has been kicking them while they're fighting like hell to get back up.
My best friend has been battling with depression like a true champion for so long, and continues to fight every second of every day but everyone has a point where it all becomes too much.
Where we have to lean on our friends and family while we get the help we need.
Whitney is one of the most loving people I've ever met and would literally give you the shirt off her back, but depression is a beast that cares nothing for the feelings in our heart only the monsters in our minds.
So at her worst she's having to take time to better her mental state for her family, for her friends and for the patients she works so wonderfully for at work. For her co-workers that adore her and for herself.
She's applied for all the things she can while out of work and going to countless appointments, and yet everything that could go wrong has while they're trying like hell to stay afloat.
Her hospital indemnity claim was denied after the spokesperson on the other end of the line told her that her 'illness' didn't qualify as a real illness.
This entire nation suffers from this wretched disease, some silently, some vocally, some until it's too late to make a difference in their lives, and yet it's not considered real.
Well while that's not acceptable I refuse to sit by and watch the system try to take my friends voice, home and life through lack of help.
John works very hard to make up for Whitney's time off, and with the help of her father- they likely could have figured it out while still suffering and not telling us.
But with a new water heater (which her dad thankfully purchased, we all know they are super expensive), a $250 water bill (also thankfully the town of Williamston is willing to work with her somewhat), a $500 power bill (I was there when she called them to inquire if she could get assistance and what exactly it was that was making it that high and they essentially said sorry but the bill is the bill, its not clear what exactly is responsible for it), Registrations and monthly payments for Aizen's school, and another power bill totally $450... this family needs your help.
None of us can help the demons we fight internally. What matters is that we stand up and fight them, to do something about it. And I can tell you with my whole heart that Whitney and John are doing all they can and just need help.
Please join me in raising money in hopes it will help their household. I don't think any family deserves it more.
