I’m creating this GoFundMe for my best friend, Tyra, and her family during one of the hardest seasons of their lives.

In October, Tyra & Dustin welcomed a beautiful baby boy almost six weeks early. What should have been a joyful time quickly became overwhelming when her newborn spent 18 long days in the NICU. Just as they were beginning to settle back in at home, Tyra’s health took a frightening turn.

Less than two weeks later, Tyra suffered a seizure that led to the discovery of a meningioma, a brain tumor affecting her skull and left eye. Since then, their world has been filled with medical appointments, uncertainty, and difficult decisions.

On January 30, Tyra will undergo brain surgery to remove as much of the tumor as possible. Following surgery, she will begin radiation treatments. The road ahead is long, both physically and emotionally.

Tyra and her husband Dustin are a family of seven. They have two grown children who are independent, as well as three young children. With mounting medical bills, time away from work, travel for treatment, and everyday household expenses, the financial strain during this time is significant.

All funds raised through this GoFundMe will go directly to Tyra and Dustin to help support their household and ease the burden, allowing them to focus on Tyra’s recovery and caring for their young children.

Anyone who knows Tyra knows that she is strong, loving, and always there for others. Now it’s our turn to be there for her. Any donation, big or small, will make a meaningful difference.
