My name is Brianna, and I am creating this fundraiser for my mother, Trevar. Recently, our family received news that has changed our lives forever—Trevar was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.

ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, slowly taking away a person’s ability to walk, speak, swallow, and eventually breathe. There is currently no medical cure, but with specialized care, adaptive equipment, and ongoing medical support, people living with ALS can maintain their independence and quality of life for as long as possible.

Trevar has always been the heart of our family—strong, kind, and full of love for others. Now, she is facing one of the toughest battles of her life, and we want to make sure she has every resource she needs to fight with dignity and hope.

The funds raised will go directly toward:

• Medical expenses and copayments for the ALS clinic and specialists at John Hopkins

• Adaptive equipment such as mobility aids and communication devices

• Moving expenses to ensure Trevar is in a safe, accessible home environment

• Other necessary care costs that insurance does not fully cover
