Tracy Royster is the kind of person who has spent her entire life taking care of others. At 58 years old, Tracy is a deeply devoted wife of 34 years, a loving family member, and a nurse who has been cherished by every patient she has ever cared for.
Tracy holds a Bachelor of Social Services and is a Registered Nurse with a BSN. She has spent 34 years as a medical-surgical and geriatric nurse, always putting her patients first and showing up with compassion, patience, and love. Caring for others wasn’t just her job — it was who she is.
On November 5, Tracy’s life changed in an instant when she suffered a massive brain bleed. The following day, she underwent emergency brain surgery that saved her life. What followed has been a long, incredibly difficult road.
She was placed on a ventilator for four weeks, required a feeding tube, and later had a tracheostomy placed. Three weeks later, the trach was finally removed. Tracy is now beginning to speak a few words, but her short-term memory is still significantly affected, and she is relearning how to walk, speak, and regain basic daily functions.
Tracy remains at JFK Hospital, and she is still missing a piece of her skull as she continues her recovery. Her healing journey is far from over.
Doctors have shared that Tracy will be out of work for at least a year, and it is still unclear whether she will ever be able to return to the nursing career she loved so deeply.
During this time, her family is facing overwhelming medical bills, rehabilitation costs, and everyday living expenses — all while focusing on what matters most: Tracy’s recovery.
We are asking for support to help ease the financial burden so her family can focus on her healing without the constant stress of how they will manage. Every donation, share, and prayer makes a difference.
If you know Tracy, you know she would be the first person to show up for someone else in need. Now, she needs us to show up for her.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, generosity, and support.
