Jennifer and Wilfredo Colon have been dedicated members of the elevator industry in the NYC/NJ area for over 15 years. Both Jennifer and Wilfredo work at Metro Elevator. Jennifer is an Inspections and Violations Manager, and Wilfredo is a proud IUEC Local 1 elevator repair mechanic.
In the summer of 2025, the Colons’ son, Isaiah, began experiencing shoulder pain. After numerous tests and doctor visits, he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of bone cancer (Osteosarcoma). In order to fight the disease and remove the tumor in his shoulder, Wilfredo Jr. underwent a life-altering surgery that resulted in the amputation of his arm at the shoulder.
As the Colon family navigates the physical, emotional, and financial challenges that come with this diagnosis, many of Jennifer and Wilfredo’s coworkers, friends, Local 1 brothers and sisters, and the Metro Elevator family have asked, “How can we help?”
This GoFundMe has been created to provide support to the Colon family during this incredibly difficult time—helping ease the burden so they can focus on what matters most: their son’s on-going treatment.
Any contribution, no matter the size, is deeply appreciated, and sharing this page is just as meaningful. Thank you for your kindness, prayers, generosity, and support.
