In a moment life can change. Sometimes we get news that we just aren't prepared for.

The Clark Family received "that" news earlier this year, and their beloved Jessica is now in the fight of her life. Her husband Paul and son Ben want to get her THE best possible medical care, but unfortunately much of that is NOT covered by insurance.

Jessica has Frontotemporal dementia - which is a progressive brain disease that damages the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain. This usually is found in people between the ages of 40-65. Jessica is 54.

There are 7 stages of the progression of this disease. In February it was determined that she was stage 2 - our meeting with her neurologist in July - determined she is now early stage 7.

The family had a home visit assessment done last month, but it was decided that Jessica was too far in her progression to be a candidate for their services. It is best for her to be in a facility that can help her with all her care. Jessica needs assistance eating, getting dressed, showering and other daily routines. She is not able to walk on her own, and has lost most of her ability to talk. She can also be aggressive at times.

The last seven months have hit hard - physically - emotionally and financially. Costs for putting Jessica in a "Good" facility that will be able to care for her daily needs is estimated to be anywhere between 8k-10k a month in NOVA; unfortunately, insurance doesn't cover most of this.

The Clark's are a wonderful family, and Jessica is an amazing person struck with something that none of us could imagine having to watch a loved one go through.
