Update on Terri’s Journey
An update on Terri and an urgent request for help.
After recent post-op appointments, Terri has learned that she is facing another major surgery, which will require a minimum week-long hospital stay. This comes after her original emergency surgery and an incredibly difficult 13-day hospital stay.
As you can imagine, these unexpected developments have brought additional medical and recovery expenses at a time when Terri is already facing so much.
For those who know Terri, you know that asking for help is not something that comes naturally to her. For 28 years, I have had the privilege of working by her side and watching her dedicate herself to her work, her dreams, and her community. She is always the person helping someone else.
Even after her first surgery, one of the very first things she asked for when she woke up was her laptop so she could get back to work. That's Terri.
Now, she needs us to stand beside her.
I am continuing to ask for your help as Terri moves forward on this difficult journey to recovery. Every donation, no matter the amount, will help with the growing medical and recovery costs and give her one less thing to worry about while she focuses on getting through this next chapter.
If you have already donated, shared the GoFundMe, sent a message, or simply kept Terri in your thoughts, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your support truly means so much.
And if you haven't had a chance to contribute, please consider donating or sharing her fundraiser with your friends and family. The need is immediate, and every bit of help makes a difference.
Thank you for standing with Terri. ❤️
UPDATE:
After a 13 day hospital stay and leaving behind her small intestines and some other parts too, Terri is home again with a few less stitches than last week after a post op visit yesterday. She has a few more weeks ahead before she can start to move about more and have visitors and then six months of home health care ahead towards recovery. This is gonna be a tough one and I will keep you updated as things progress. As you could imagine, all of your support matters and every donation helps and is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Last Wednesday Terri was experiencing excruciating pain in her abdomen so we took her to the hospital and they took her back to emergency surgery due to Sepsis. She has spent the last week in the ICU fighting for her life. She is currently making some progress in the ICU as this goes live and I will keep everyone updated as we have a long road ahead.
There are people who make a difference simply by showing up for others. Terri is one of those rare people.
For the past 28 years, I have had the privilege of working side by side with her, and during that time I have watched her dedicate her life to helping people, building community, and pursuing her dream with unwavering determination. She is the first person to step in when someone needs help, the one who quietly solves problems, lifts others up, and gives without ever expecting anything in return.
The one thing Terri has never been comfortable doing is asking for help herself.
Today, I'm asking on her behalf.
Terri is facing significant medical challenges that have created immediate financial burdens. As she recovers from surgery, she should be able to focus entirely on healing—not on the stress of mounting recovery expenses.
If you know Terri, you know that slowing down isn't in her nature. In fact, one of the very first things she asked for after waking up from surgery wasn't anything for herself—it was her laptop so she could get back to work. That's who she is. Even in one of the most difficult moments of her life, she was thinking about her work, her community, and the dreams she has spent years building.
Her strength is inspiring, but even the strongest people need support sometimes.
For nearly three decades, I've watched Terri pour her heart into creating opportunities for others, bringing people together, and making our community better. She has given so much of herself to so many people, often behind the scenes and without recognition. Now it's our turn to give something back.
Every donation will help ease the financial burden of her recovery so she can focus on regaining her health instead of worrying about expenses. Whether you can give a little or a lot, every contribution makes a meaningful difference.
If you're unable to donate, please consider sharing this page. Your support, encouragement, and kindness mean more than you know.
Thank you for helping someone who has spent her life helping everyone else. Let's remind Terri that she doesn't have to carry this burden alone. It's our turn to stand beside her, just as she has stood beside so many of us.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Dan
