Friends,
I want to thank you all for your help over the past three weeks. I have been able to pay taxes; pay a couple of bills; have my old, high-mileage car worked on (the repairs seem never-ending); and purchase food and other necessities, such as regularly occurring prescription medications for my children and myself. But now that financial assistance is depleted, friends have encouraged me to create a Go Fund Me campaign, even though I haven't wanted to resort to that. I realize, though, that I need help, just like many others need help, sometimes.
Some background: In 2023, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I am a cancer survivor, but now I must survive medical debt as the bills continue to pile up from chemotherapy, radiation treatment and regular appointments to make sure the cancer is still in remission. While I remain at the same full-time job I've been blessed to have for 11 years, I do not have the capacity to take on more work, as I am a single mother of six-year-old twins and am still actively trying to regain my strength. I have noticed improvements, with effort. However, health issues persist: I need hernia surgery and abdominal surgery to repair diastasis recti, hopefully in June. This will only add to my medical debt and my healing time. I am hopeful that your support can help me get to the other side of this.
Any contribution during this time would help. Thank you so much for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Tanya
