Hello — thank you for taking a moment to read about our mom, Tammie

Our mom has always been the person everyone turns to, a gentle, fiercely caring soul who devoted her life to helping others. She served our country as a combat medic during Desert Storm in Saudi Arabia, and for the past 19 years she has worked as a physical therapist assistant in home health, bringing comfort and competence to countless patients. Now, after a long, exhausting battle with pre-cancerous cells, she needs us.

Her medical journey began in 2013 with precancerous lesions that led to two surgeries to remove parts of her tongue and throat, medically known as partial glossectomies. Despite her strength and resilience, the cancer returned. In February 2026 a tumor returned with a vengeance. She was diagnosed with invasive squamous cell carcinoma in her mouth and throat, and the disease has spread to her lymph nodes and jaw. Because of the new tumor, she is experiencing significant problems with speaking and eating and is limited to soft foods. She is currently out of work due to her inability to speak for extended periods, and is still exploring treatment options with her medical team.

We are raising funds to help cover medical bills and living expenses so she can concentrate fully on treatment and recovery.

My mom has given so much of herself to others, in service to our country and in caring for patients in our community. She has faced surgeries, setbacks, and long recoveries with courage and grace. Right now, she needs the support she has always offered others: the gift of time, care, and financial breathing room to focus on healing. Any amount you can give will help lift a tremendous weight from her shoulders and ours.
