Our dear friend Tami Stramer has always been the strong, independent caretaker—the one who quietly serves others, cleans homes with excellence, and puts her family first. She never imagined she would be the one in need of care. But on January 22nd, her world was turned upside down with an unexpected diagnosis of stage three HER2-positive breast cancer that has also spread to her lymph nodes.
In just a short time, Tami has been fast-tracked into aggressive treatment. She is facing nine months to a year of intense therapy: starting with infusions of antibodies combined with small doses of chemotherapy, then moving into full chemotherapy infusions to shrink the tumors. This will be followed by surgery to remove the tumor and then radiation to treat the remaining cancer in her lymph nodes.
Because of the high risk of infection from her cleaning work and the uncertainty of how the treatments will leave her feeling—sick, exhausted, and vulnerable—Tami is no longer safe to work in the way she once did. She has been a consistent, faithful employee for years, and her family has always depended on her income. Now, with only a handful of houses she can safely help her team with (thanks to her very understanding boss), her earnings have dropped dramatically at the exact time her family needs them most.
On top of everything, Tami and her family are facing a $12,000 medical deductible—just for the medical expenses alone—while her income continues to disappear. The financial burden is heavy and growing.
Tami and her husband Jon are strong in their Christian faith. They believe with all their hearts that God is walking with them every step of this journey. Many prayer chains have lifted Tami up, and they have already seen beautiful answers to prayer. They know God will provide, both physically and financially.
But right now, they also need the body of Christ to come alongside them.
If you are reading this, would you please pray for Tami? Pray for strength, healing, peace, and protection through every treatment and every long day. Pray for Jon and their family as they walk this road together.
And if the Lord lays it on your heart to help financially, we ask you to prayerfully consider giving. Every gift, no matter the size, will help ease the crushing weight of medical bills and lost income so Tami can focus on fighting this cancer and getting well.
Tami has spent years caring for others. Today, she and her family need us to carry their burden with them.
“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”
— Philippians 4:19 NIV
“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”
— Galatians 6:2 NIV
If you feel led to give, please reply to this message or reach out privately and we will gladly share the best way to bless Tami and Jon directly. Whether through prayer alone or prayer plus a financial gift, every act of love and obedience matters deeply.
Thank you for standing with Tami and her family in this difficult season. God bless you.
