My friend Greeneyeszzzvixen aka Tammy was tragically assaulted in a road rage incident and sustained three severe injuries. The horrific occurrence has left her unable to walk. She severely tore her left knee patellar tendon in three places, ruptured her right Achilles, and has a partial tear above her right knee. These severe injuries have caused Tammy to be immobilized and use a wheelchair and a walker for support.

Additionally, due to her ongoing home physical therapy, she is trying her best to be able to walk again so that she can go back to living a normal life. Tammy’s team of doctors has told me that the rehabilitation process can take up to a year and that a significant amount of time will be spent inpatient and outpatient. Even so, her medical bills are very high, and the extent to which insurance will cover this long rehabilitation period is unclear.

She’s has had three life changing surgeries that has affected her ability to walk. Tammy was a wife and mother of four children. She is now unemployed and not able to work due to her circumstances, leaving all the financial burden on her husband. Their living expenses, including paying for the cost of living, utilities, childcare, and transportation to and from doctor's appointments, have been difficult. However, with the treatment she receives from her doctors and the emotional toll it takes, she is trying her very best to overcome her obstacles. The uncertainty surrounding her income and ability to manage living expenses is something she hadn't anticipated nor really had the time to figure out how she will manage her household expenses due to how quickly the incident has all happened.

The financial difficulties have undoubtedly become a lot for her to handle as she starts her road to recovery.
