Two years ago, Stephon was diagnosed with CHF and was told he would possibly need a heart transplant in 10 years. However, a heart transplant was needed faster than planned.
Stephon Jones, a dedicated Prince George’s County Emergency Dispatcher III and volunteer Prince George’s County Firefighter and EMT, was admitted to the hospital on February 3, 2026, for what was supposed to be a 3-day IV administered treatment, which turned into something much more serious. From there, he was placed on the transplant list that week and received a heart on February 16, 2026. With almost daily complications, he’s still holding on strong and determined, but after he makes it out of the ICU, he will still need weeks of therapy.
He won’t be able to work for a long time after, and while his fiancée is holding down the fort at home, working and trying to keep up on household bills and making sure the triplets are cared for, they know that the medical bills are going to be a heavy burden on all of them.
Stephon is an amazing guy; everyone he meets loves him. He’s always the one that’s there for others, and in his time of need, if you are able to contribute anything, it would be very much appreciated.
