Hello, my name is Skylar Schreiner, and I am the daughter of Shannon Schreiner.
In 2023, our lives changed when my dad was diagnosed with colon cancer. After a long and incredibly difficult battle, we were beyond grateful when he went into remission.
Unfortunately, three years later, the cancer returned—this time in his lung. He underwent surgery at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Texas, where doctors removed the middle lobe of his right lung. We were hopeful as he began recovering well, but around Easter, things took a turn. He started feeling unwell and struggled to breathe. Just two days later, he was hospitalized with an infection in his lungs, along with pneumonia and additional complications.
This May, my dad will begin another six months of chemotherapy as he continues to fight with everything he has.
Through it all, he has remained strong, resilient, and full of love for those around him. Our family is holding onto hope and taking things one day at a time. Any support, prayers, or kindness means more to us than we can ever express. Thank you for being a part of his journey.
With hospital stays/viisit, traveling to texas to see his doctors, and missing work expenses have started to increase. If you would like to help with the burden of all the expenses so Shannon can focus on his recovery and Hope can take care of him that would be greatly appreciated.
