# Standing With Shanna: Help Her Fight Breast Cancer

For so many years, Shanna Johnson has poured into the lives of others. Now, we have an opportunity to pour back into hers.

Shanna is a devoted educator, gifted musician, loving daughter, sister and aunt, and a treasured friend to so many. Whether through the students she has taught and encouraged, the music she has shared, or simply the love and support she gives so freely to the people around her, Shanna has always been someone who shows up for others.

In May 2026, Shanna received news that would change her life: she was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer.

Even while processing a diagnosis no one is ever prepared to receive, Shanna remained committed to her students and completed the school year. But as the year came to a close, her fight against cancer was already beginning.

Since her diagnosis, Shanna has undergone surgery and chemotherapy treatments, and she is now preparing to face the next phase of her journey: radiation.

Cancer affects far more than the body. It impacts every part of life, emotionally, physically, mentally, and financially. While Shanna has insurance, unfortunately, insurance does not cover everything. Medical costs, personal expenses, transportation, medications, time away from work, and the many unexpected expenses that accompany treatment can quickly become overwhelming.

We do not want finances to become another battle Shanna has to fight while she is already fighting for her health.

That is why we are asking her village, her family, friends, fellow educators, musicians, former students, colleagues, church community members, and anyone whose heart is moved by her story, to rally around her.

Our goal is simple: to help lighten Shanna’s load.
