Standing with Scott: Rallying Around Him as he Fights Stage 4 Metastatic Cancer

If you know Scott, you know exactly the kind of man he is. To know him is to love him. A deeply devoted husband and father, a loving son, a proud uncle, an irreplaceable brother, a dedicated colleague and a fiercely loyal friend.

Whether he’s on the sidelines coaching youth sports, stepping up to help a friend or simply stopping to chat, you would see that his day-to-day life is defined by service and community. He is the heartbeat of his family.

Recently, our world was completely shattered by a sudden and shocking medical diagnosis. Scott was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer, which has unfortunately already metastasized to his liver and lymph nodes.

For a man who has always been the provider, the protector, and the anchor, this diagnosis is a massive physical, emotional, and financial blow. This battle will completely disrupt his ability to work and coach, turning his family’s daily life upside down as he fights for his survival.

Where the Funds Will Go: As the family’s primary income, his inability to work creates an immediate financial crisis, but the burden of fighting advanced cancer stretches far beyond everyday bills. We are launching this GoFundMe to relieve the overwhelming financial pressure so he can focus 100% of his energy on staying alive. An overwhelming number of requests have come in asking how to help and we believe this is the best way possible.

Funds raised will be directly utilized for:

1. Income Subsidization: Because he is the key provider, these funds will help bridge the gap, as Scott will be unable to work. Long term disability is helpful, yet it is a huge cut from his regular income.

2. Enabling Catrina to Be by His Side: No one should have to walk through chemotherapy, major surgeries, and intensive treatments alone. These funds will ensure that his wife, Catrina, has the financial flexibility to take time away from any other obligations to be by his side.

3. Medical Travel & Out-of-Town Surgeries: Upcoming surgeries and specialized treatments will require some travel outside of his hometown. Funds will cover transportation, fuel, and lodging near specialized medical facilities.
