Hello, my name is Sandy Parker, a longtime family friend of Derek and Tiera Arterberry.
In March 2023, their beautiful and courageous then six-year-old daughter Savannah was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma stage 4. It’s a horrible cancer that only targets young children.
Our Savannah fought a very long and painful fight for an entire year and a half of countless chemos, radiation, and surgeries. She spent most of that time in the hospital with her parents and little sister Sammi right by her side. They never left her alone for a minute!
Savannah kicked that cancer’s ass and won her fight! Savannah was cancer-free!
Sadly, the chemotherapy caused her to lose 50% of her hearing.
Slowly, things started to get back to normal. She was able to return to school, dance lessons, and everything else she loved and missed.
Savannah remained cancer-free for almost 2 years. It was a miracle!
In January of this year 2026, Derek and Tiera were devastated when told the cancer had returned.
In one moment, their entire life was flipped upside down for a 2nd time.
Now 9, Savannah is forced to fight again.
Her fight is their fight!! You will never see two more determined parents to get their daughter healed.
Savannah’s doctors decided she needed to seek all of her treatment outside of Las Vegas, where she lives. The best possible care for Savannah is at UCLA Children’s Hospital in CA. Currently, her treatment plan includes,
Savannah will be in the hospital for a week every 3 weeks but all her care for treatment will be based in LA for the next 6 months minimum. The hope is that she’s able to return home for the last week. If she’s well enough. Then it’s a six-hour drive back to the hospital to start another round of chemotherapy. It is brutal for any child battling cancer.
This unjust reality has put a huge financial strain on Derek and Tiera. The cost of having to endure traveling, the high gas prices, hotels, food, etc.
And maintain their other obligations such as mortgage, car payment, etc.
They’re unable to bring in any type of a steady income.
Please help this beautiful and brave family! Any donation you’re able to give will help them survive this uphill battle they’re facing.
On behalf of the Arterberry family, we thank you for reading Savannah’s story! Please keep Savannah in your prayers!!
Please share!!
With much gratitude,
