I never imagined that a normal workday would change my life so suddenly. My name is Sarah, and I’m a 47-year-old woman who has always worked hard, shown up for others, and taken pride in staying strong. I am also an as-needed caregiver for a member of my household, and I handle all of the day-to-day labor responsibilities—both inside and outside the home. But recently, everything shifted when I suffered a SCAD (Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection) heart attack while working my part-time shift at UPS.
SCAD is a rare and unexpected condition that can strike without warning, even in people who seem otherwise healthy. One moment I was doing my job, and the next I was fighting for my life. It’s been a frightening and overwhelming experience, not just physically, but emotionally as well.
As I focus on recovery, I’m facing medical bills and time away from work and home responsibilities that I simply wasn’t prepared for. I’ve always been independent, so asking for help is not easy—but right now, I truly need it.
If you’re able to support me, whether through a donation or by sharing my story, it would mean more than I can put into words. Every bit of help goes toward medical expenses, recovery costs, and helping me stay afloat during this difficult time.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any kindness you can offer. It truly makes a difference.
P.S. If you are someone who consistently pushes your physical limits, please learn more about SCAD (Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection).
