Hello all, my name is Patricia Harrell and I'm Sandy's daughter. Mom have been battling some health issues while living alone in the Virgin Islands, that were not properly addressed by her physician. By the time I was able to convince her to travel to Houston for help, her health had already drastically declined and she was diagnosed with advance stage liver cancer. I first took her to Methodist Hospital where she was diagnosed but released due to none coverage. A week later, I rushed her back to a second hospital where she has now been for 3 weeks and is now on Palliative care. This all happened so quickly and unexpected. I really miss hearing her voice and can't wait until she's able to come back home.

My mom is God fearing, she loves her family, loves to make others laugh, she enjoys volunteering time, always smiling, is a true friend, would give her last to others in need and a talented baker.

Sadly, mom is already been receiving medical bills from Methodist Hospital for more than $20,000 and her monthly bills are stacking up. Unfortunately, I'm not financially able to keep up with her bills that also includes a car note. She will probably lose her car and apartment and everything in it while here in Houston, which would be devastating. She never asked anyone for anything and bridged her income using her talent of baking birthday and wedding cakes. I am reaching out for donations because mom has a long road ahead and I can already feel the financial burden. There is no worse feeling than feeling hopeless and unable to provide stability for mom, where needed in a time like this. Your donations will allow me to help alleviate her medical and personal bills, purchase medical equipment that would be needed once she's strong enough to leave the hospital and for me to be able to take time off to focus on taking care of her as needed.
