On the night of February 9, 2026, Samantha Sillman and Zachary Martin were driving home on Montour run rd in Moon Township at approximately 11:30 PM, just two minutes from home, when their lives were turned upside down.

A suspected impaired driver—still under investigation—was swerving all over the road and crossed directly into their lane, hitting them head-on. A witness reported a strong odor of marijuana and alcohol coming from the other vehicle.

Sam and Zach’s vehicle was completely totaled, and both were transported by ambulance to Allegheny General Hospital, where they specialize in trauma care.

Zach suffered a swollen face, a black eye, minor scrapes, and significant soreness throughout his body from the impact, airbags, and seatbelt.

Sam sustained a broken wrist that required immediate surgery with a plate and screws, stitches in her lower abdomen, and torn muscles in her left hip, making it extremely painful and difficult for her to walk.

As hard as this is to say, this accident has left them unable to work for the time being. Zach must stay home to care for Sam, as she cannot be left alone. The SUV that was destroyed was their only vehicle—needed for work, job estimates, and daily life. Insurance has been notified, but with the investigation ongoing, this process could take weeks.

We never imagined asking for help, but during this overwhelming time, any support—whether financial or simply prayers—would mean more than words can express. No one should have to worry about money while healing from something like this.
