My name is Krista Poellot. My good friend, Rory Meschke, is an Army veteran who was discharged due to adult onset epilepsy. On Monday, January 19, 2026, he was getting ready for work when he had what the doctors are calling a series of seizures. At the time, he is in critical but stable condition in the neuro ICU at UW Hospital up in Madison, WI. He is expected to be in the ICU for a least a week or two. He is the sole income for him and his 16 year old autistic son, who I am currently looking after. Because Rory is a food service worker, he has no paid time off, nothing to help pay the rent, electricity, phone, and other living expenses.
