Help Us Bring Ron Home
Yesterday, our family experienced a loss that has left us heartbroken. My brother, Ron, passed away after his battle with ALS.
It pains me to do this as I know times are challenging.
Losing a brother is something I cannot fully put into words. While we are trying to process the reality of his passing and grieve as a family, we are also faced with the immediate responsibility of making sure Ron is brought home and given a proper funeral and final farewell.
Ron passed away in Anderson, South Carolina, and we need to have his body transported home to Savannah, Georgia, where our family can lay him to rest. The expenses associated with transporting him, funeral home services, and other final arrangements are significant and have come upon our family all at once.
But there is another very important reason we are asking for help: Ron leaves behind his 15-year-old son.
At only 15 years old, his son is now facing life without his father. No amount of money can replace that loss. However, after Ron's funeral and final expenses have been taken care of, any remaining funds raised will be set aside to help support his son and give him something from the love and generosity shown to his father during this difficult time.
We are asking our family, friends, community, and anyone who feels led to help us bring Ron home to Savannah and to celebrate him with dignity. Every donation, regardless of the amount, will help.
Funds raised will help with:
- Transportation of Ron from Anderson, SC to Savannah, GA
- Funeral home and funeral service expenses
- and final arrangements
- Any remaining funds will go toward supporting Ron's 15-year-old son
If you are unable to donate, we completely understand. Sharing this fundraiser is also a tremendous help. Please keep Ron's son, our mother, our family, and everyone who loved Ron in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate the days ahead. And those who already donated or will, thank you.
Our family wants to make sure Ron is brought home and honored properly.
Rest peacefully, Ron. You fought a battle that required tremendous strength. Now it is our turn to bring you home.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for every donation, prayer, share, phone call, and act of kindness during this incredibly difficult time.
The Family of Ron
