Help Our Family Support My Dad in His Fight Against Thyroid Cancer
Our family recently received the devastating news that my dad, Rod, has been diagnosed with Stage 4 thyroid cancer. What started as concerns about his health quickly turned into a life-changing diagnosis that none of us were prepared for.
If you know my dad, you know the kind of man he is. He is steady, quietly strong, the kind of person who shows up without needing recognition. He has always been the dependable one — the fixer, the helper, the protector. He’s the man who will drop everything to lend a hand, who works hard without complaint, and who has spent his life putting others before himself.
He has been my biggest supporter, my steady voice of reason, and my safe place. Every milestone in my life — every success, every setback — he has been right there. Now, as he faces the fight of his life, I am standing beside him the way he has always stood beside me.
Stage 4 thyroid cancer is not a small battle. It means aggressive treatment, countless appointments, specialists, testing, possible surgeries, medications, and ongoing care. It also means time away from work and mounting medical expenses that come quickly and without warning.
We are starting this GoFundMe because the financial weight of cancer is overwhelming. Medical bills, travel to appointments, prescriptions, and lost income are already adding up. I want my dad’s focus to be on healing — not on how we are going to manage the next bill.
As his only child, I feel the responsibility deeply. I want to make sure he has access to the best care possible and that he feels supported, not stressed, during this fight. He has spent his entire life taking care of me. Now it is my turn to take care of him.
