Seven years ago, Robin Ayers faced one of the hardest battles a person can fight. Breast cancer. She endured 29 rounds of chemotherapy and 25 sessions of radiation, including the extremely harsh chemo known as “the Red Devil.” Through every treatment, every difficult day, and every moment of uncertainty, Robin never let it break her spirit.

She fought with strength, determination, and a positive attitude that inspired everyone around her. And she beat it.

Robin is one of the hardest working and most dependable people you could ever meet. Even after everything she went through, she did not stay out of work long. As soon as she was able, she went right back to work. She shows up every day with a smile, never complains, and is always willing to help others.

But cancer treatments can leave lasting effects.

Because of her treatments and the loss of her ovaries, Robin now struggles with severe bone density issues. She has already suffered a broken hip and had to undergo hip replacement surgery.

To protect her bones and prevent further serious injuries, Robin needs Prolia injections every 6 months. These shots are critical for her bone health, but they cost around $10,000 per injection.

After returning to work, Robin lost her previous insurance coverage. Due to her medical history, insurance options are extremely expensive, and she was recently dropped from the program that had been helping her receive these injections.

She has found a program that may help cover part of the cost, but she still faces a large financial burden just to receive the medication she needs to stay healthy.
