As many of you know, one of our brothers and his family are currently going through every parent’s worst nightmare. Their beautiful baby girl, Rilynn RoseMarie, is fighting for her life, and no family should ever have to carry this kind of pain alone.
What started as what seemed like a stomach bug quickly turned devastating. After being sick for several days, Rilynn became unconscious and began suffering unexplained seizures. She was rushed into the Neonatal/PICU, where doctors found she was severely dehydrated with dangerously low blood sugar and electrolyte levels. Since then, she has undergone countless tests including MRIs, EEGs, spinal taps, and around-the-clock monitoring as doctors try to understand exactly what caused this tragedy.
Over the last several days, the situation has become even more heartbreaking. Doctors discovered severe swelling in Rilynn’s brain that has caused significant damage. While she has moments where she blinks or moves, doctors have explained that she is currently in a vegetative state and not consciously responding. Her family is now facing unimaginable decisions regarding long-term care, life support, and what the future may look like for their little girl.
Anyone who knows our brother knows he’s the kind of man who would give the shirt off his back to help someone else without hesitation. Right now, he and his family need us. Between the nonstop hospital stays, time away from work, travel, medical expenses, meals, and the emotional weight of this fight, the burden has become overwhelming.
We pride ourselves on standing together when one of our own is hurting. This is one of those moments where we rally around this family and remind them they are not fighting alone.
