Hello family and friend's, on Monday, December 22nd, my mother Rhonda, was having complications with a lot of head pressure and head pain.
She went to the walk in clinic 2 times and ER, her 3rd time seeing a doctor!
2 visits prior to her 3rd visit, the doctors diagnosed rhonda as having a nasal infection, due to her symptoms, which myself my husband and others agreed, There could be that because it's what it looked like and sounded like..
With Rhonda's symptoms, which we're not getting better with the medication. She was on, she went to the walk in clinic 2 times, got different meds each time and still her symptoms We're getting worse.
On Monday, December 22nd, I told my mom to go to the doctor, to get checked out because she was scared because her symptoms were getting worse, I went to work and a few hours later, She called Blake my husband, She was going to the ER, she was afraid because she was having a hard time seeing and as I remember what blake said she sounded confused and not herself, blake offered to take her to the ER, but she was already driving herself there.
She got to the hospital and from there they did scans on her to only find she was bleeding internally in her brain!
No one could get ahold of her, Except for my husband Blake, she was calling him and answering the phone for him.
I was at work and her husband Joe, who is a truck driver, was over the road. On his way to dallas texas, about an hour went by after finding out the scans of her bleeding internally in her brain, blake got information and news that Rhonda has became incoherent and unresponsive, and her brain bleed was getting worse and out of control.
They had to prep the OR, and rush her by ambulance to a nearby hospital, for an emergency brain surgery!
At this time, Blake was blowing up and trying to reach out to myself and Joe to let us know due to us being at work, I left work as soon as I found out.
Me and Blake got to the hospital, as fast as we could a couple hours later. To find out she just got out of surgery, the recovery was a long time before we could see her at this time, We waited and eventually got to go back and see her..
She was very confused. She kept repeating herself, not knowing where she was not knowing what happened saying. It's scary.
We would repeat ourselves, telling her what happened and then right after we would tell her, she would ask us again, what happened, It was tough seeing her, like this and going through this, The next day was about the same with recovery a little more clear with words, Then the 3rd day Joe got home from off the road, as my husband and myself have been there since day one watching the progress.
The 3rd day was amazing, she was talking communicating responding, laughing, and smiling and singing she was about 70% back to her normal self.
That day being christmas eve, Myself and my husband knowing the holiday Christmas was The next day, we decided to bring her grand boys to see they're Nana, because of how good she was doing. We came back the next day christmas, The boys had a present for their nana, but something wasn't the same as it was the day before.
She reached up, gave hugs and kisses, but something wasn't the same, she was slowly degreasing, and wasn't speaking correctly. She was in and out of it. She wasn't moving her right arm anymore, to find out she had a seizure leading to a mini stroke, in front of us. The doctors did scans, showing the swelling in her brain and blood and fluid were getting bad Again and her brain was shifting left again, needing to lead to a 2nd brain surgery, accept this time, removing the left side of her skull bone, due to not restricting the brain swelling.
They did the surgery, but she was not the same She was not moving, not waking up she would move her left arm but not moving her right arm and she moved her feet like stretching, but that was to the extent of what she would do as she was non-responsive. That next day she had 9 seizures, with doctors and nurses battling to get her seizures under control for 1 full day being loaded with seizure prevention medication trying to reduce stop or slow down. Those seizures from happening, to find out she had a mini-stroke after the doctor's did a MRI scan, that wasn't showing up on a CT, luckily it was a small stroke, as we were told over time, leading back to christmas day, when she was degreasing in front of us. The doctor said that She could recover from gaining motion back in her right arm due to it being a small stroke.
But the continuous battle, was yet over the doctors decided to do a procedure. It's called MMA, where they went in her arteries, into her brain due to the fluid build up being in her brain, causing her brain to shift on the left side and swell, causing the seizures, they went in the brain and carterized the left side and the right side of the brain, up to 13 stitches.
On December 29th, after this procedure, Rhonda has been stable, The fluid and blood, is not getting worse in the brain and has been under control. The seizures have stopped and are under control. And her vital's look good, with the brain swelling going down and the shifting going back to center.
She has opened her eyes for a few seconds here and there and has moved to some responses plus she moved her right arm alittle as well. She is giggling at joke's from the doctors and from kisses on her forehead.
But as of right now, the doctors are saying nothing but positive things after this procedure about my mom.
The only thing is, the Recovery is going to be hard, Take lots of time and be complicated, but as of right now, everything has been looking positive and is under control her brain has shifted back to center the swelling has gone down the fluid and blood, is very little in her head and reducing.
Just trying to stay positive in prayer, for the hopes of a great recovery, which is going to take time and be a struggle for Rhonda and the family.
Just showing her the love. She has and the support surrounding her and with this, it doesn't matter what we go through in life doesn't stop. I'm just trying to get the support and help my mom, who needs help during this time, the best way we can!
So if you are able to please help, donate in any way with the support of helping with my mom's finances during these tough times, even a strong prayer over my mom and family would mean so much to us and would be greatly appreciated to me and my family, to Rhonda's recovery.
Thank you and god bless!
