In May of 2020, I suddenly collapsed at work. I woke up on the floor confused and scared. They told me that time and that I possibly had long covid and then I needed to go home and rest.
I have been sick battling different autoimmune disorders for the majority of my life. So when I was diagnosed with yet another one in 2020, I handled it the best I could and made lifestyle changes that I needed to.
I have struggled and fought to maintain insurance, work and enough health to get up and move everyday. I learned how to walk again, I regained dexterity, I followed my doctor's orders. I met with doctor after doctor, and sub-specialty after sub-specialty... I've had surgeries...
I started having chest pains recently, after my body was unable to battle an infection. I went to the ER only to find out in an incidental ct scan that I have what appears to be widespread lymphoma. Several lymph nodes are affected, my spine, my lung and my liver.
I meet with my oncology team on Tuesday to discuss what my treatment options are. In the meantime, my Dr has taken me out of work so that I can prepare for treatment and battle my infection.
Unfortunately, this leaves me paying for my insurance and medical treatment without a job.
If you have an opportunity to help cover medical costs during this time, it would be greatly appreciated. This is a time with a lot of unknowns and I will update this journey when new information arises.
Thank you for listening and considering a donation or sharing my story if it aligns.
❤️ Renee
