Our family is going through one of the hardest seasons we've ever faced, and asking for help does not come easy to us. But right now, we truly need it.
We are parents to an incredible 3-year-old little girl who is medically complex and completely dependent on us for her care. Our daughter has a rare condition called Moebius Syndrome. She is trach and ventilator dependent, deaf, has cerebral palsy, a seizure disorder, brain volume loss, severe developmental delays, and receives all nutrition through a G-button.
Because of her medical needs, we travel back and forth to Houston multiple times every month for specialists and appointments including:
• Neurology
• Neurosurgery
• GI
• Pulmonology and Vent Clinic
• ENT
• Audiology
• Craniofacial
• Orthopedics for her hands and feet
• Physical Rehabilitation
• Complex Care
In the middle of all of this, our family relocated on the promise of a stable job opportunity so we could be closer to family support and the hospital our daughter needs. After we uprooted our lives and moved, that job was unexpectedly canceled without warning.
Thankfully, my husband was able to find another full-time job, but even working full time, we are still struggling to stay afloat because of the amount of work he has to miss to take us to appointments, hospital stays, and emergencies.
On just his second day at this new job, we had to rush our daughter to the emergency room due to severe respiratory distress and cluster seizures. She was then admitted to the Pediatric ICU for the third time.
Last month alone, our daughter was admitted to the PICU twice. Since moving here, she has been life-flighted three times. She went into cardiac arrest after catching a simple cold, battled rhinovirus, and was later re-hospitalized because she could not fully recover after discharge.
On top of everything else, I am now facing an emergency surgery scheduled for June, which will create even more financial hardship and time away from work opportunities.
Due to extremely limited nursing hours, only my husband is able to work consistently, and with only one vehicle, managing appointments and hospital stays has become incredibly difficult financially and emotionally.
We have exhausted our savings. Our family has helped as much as they possibly can, but they are struggling too. We have applied for Social Security Disability for our daughter, but were told the process is backlogged for over a year.
At this moment, we are currently $375 behind on our May rent. As soon as we are able to catch that up, June rent of $1,595 will immediately be due. If we are unable to pay in full on time, we could face an eviction notice on top of everything else we are already navigating.
We are also struggling to cover transportation to medical appointments, medical supplies, utilities, groceries, and daily necessities while trying to keep our daughter stable and safe at home.
My husband works incredibly hard, and I am willing to do any side work I physically can around nursing hours and caring for our daughter. We are not looking for handouts — we are simply trying to survive while giving our child the care she deserves.
If you are unable to donate, we completely understand. Sharing our story and praying for our family means more than you know.
We still believe God has a plan for our lives, even in this season. We will continue trusting Him, praising Him in the hallway, and believing He will open the right doors in His timing.
Thank you for reading, supporting, praying, and loving our family through this difficult time.
