We are raising funds to support a beloved educator who was taken into ICE custody on school grounds January 7th while actively helping dismiss students after school.

At the time of the incident, the educator was doing what he has always done—prioritizing the safety and well-being of children. ICE agents used excessive force, slamming him to the ground and restraining him. Multiple agents pulled out some of his hair and applied pressure to his neck to the point where he could not breathe.

He was then taken to the Whipple Building, where he continued to be harassed by ICE agents, and was released hours later. The sudden detention occurred in front of students and staff, causing fear and confusion during what should have been a safe and routine dismissal.

This educator has dedicated over 7 years serving students and families at Roosevelt High School with care, compassion, and integrity. Now, he and his loved ones are facing unexpected legal expenses, loss of income, and emotional hardship as a result of this incident.

Funds raised will go directly toward:

• Legal defense and related expenses

• Counseling and other support services as needed

• Loss of income due to inability to work
