My dad was recently detained by ice July 15, 2026 on his way to a family reunion driving from Eureka California to Iowa. He was detained in Rock Springs, Wyoming simply for having a broken tail light. He was then questioned about his valid California drivers license and question regarding his legal status because he did not have a real ID or a passport on him.

My mother and father run a painting business together. The painting business does not function without my father as they make every business decision together. He is the father of five children and two grandchildren. My dad has has lived in the United States for over 30 years. We have worked with several attorneys in the past to legalize him and have been unsuccessful. My father has no criminal record. He simply was detained because of his legal status. He is a devoted, father and husband. He has played a huge role in our community. He has volunteered at church. Volunteered with the homeless. He has helped coach Little League football. My father is not a criminal. He is a good man. All of these funds will go towards legal fees in filing fees and other related expenses related to my dad's case.
