As many of you know, Jason has been fighting a hard battle with an extremely rare form of Melanoma that is incurable. Best he can hope for is to be in remission for as long as possible. Unfortunately, there aren’t many treatments options available due to the lack of research, knowledge, and this form of cancer is not receptive to chemotherapy. Jason has undergone extensive immunotherapy, radiation, and taken what medication is available. As well as, having a partial amputation of his thumb and numerous lymph nodes removed. None of these treatments/procedures have stopped the cancer from metastasizing.
In 2024 a new form of treatment was approved, TIL Therapy (tumor infiltrating lymphocytes.) The closest facility is the University of Maryland Health. This is quite an extensive procedure and is done in two phases. The procedure takes a huge toll on the body. Jason will be hospitalized for an extended amount of time beginning January 19th. Jason will remain in Baltimore until early March with 24/7 care until he is able to return home. Then he will have a long road ahead of him while continuing to recover and return to the everyday routines of life.
The family has been blessed thus far with several friends who have volunteered to stay with Jason throughout this process so he is never alone.
But with all of this comes a financial hardship of several types of expenses i.e. medical/medication bills, travel costs, food, and personal expenses from being out of work. The family understands that everyone has their own financial struggles but we are asking for anyone who can, to help us keep Jason afloat during this time. Anything helps. We also continue to ask that each and every one of you continue to keep Jason in your prayers as we all know he’s a pretty special guy who gives so much of himself to others.
We truly appreciate any help that we can get for him to have one less worry on his plate so he can remain positive in the coming days.
