Olivia is my 14 yr old daughter who that been battling multiple cancer diagnosis since the age of 2. She has undergone numerous procedures, chemotherapies, radiation, and 2 major surgeries. One surgery was on her spinal cord last year that required a metal plate to be placed making holding her head up harder for her. The other took her right fibula bone out to replace her bottom jaw bone. These were both in the last 3 years. After all of this she is still on the journey to being in remission... Olivia is about to embark on the biggest surgery of her life in hopes to remove all the cancer from the right side of her face (where she continues to keep relapsing). The surgeons will be going in and removing the bone around her eye (and the eye itself); as well as the jaw bone of the right side of her mouth. It will be replaced with soft tissue from her right thigh and sealed off with a skin flap. This will take time to heal requiring a G-Tube in her stomach to provide nutrition as she will not be able to eat until it is fully healed. Throughout all of this, Olivia has kept a positive attitude that it is just one more thing she has to face. Surgery is set for May 11th.
This is never just a 1 person battle though. I am raising two other children behind her. I will need to take time off in order to help ease the transition of this life changing surgery. I will need to be by all of their sides especially Olivia's as it is all a lot of change. Financial help would not only be appreciated, but welcomed as I would like to keep the normalcy of the family going in such a difficult time.
Thank you!
