Hi everyone. I started this gofundme for my dear friend, Nicole Rogers.

If you know Nicole, you already know how special she truly is. She is someone who has shown up, continually, for so many others, no matter what she was facing herself. She is a single mother of 5 amazing children, with a 6th foster daughter added to her family. Without hesitation and without ever asking for anything in return, she shows up for everyone and anyone. It is now our turn to show up for her.

Recently, Nicole was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer. It is an aggressive form of breast cancer and treatment is starting immediately and will be ongoing for the next 6 months or so. The battle has just begun, but we are confident she is a strong fighter and will get through this with the same determination and hope she has always shown her family and friends.

As a single, working parent and sole provider for her household of 6 kids, this diagnosis and treatment trajectory is going to be tough with emotional and physical challenges. The added financial strain is going to be challenging, as well.

This is where we all come in. She has a very small amount of paid time off from work and little resources available to supplement her working income. Time away for treatment will mean a severe hit to her household income and the ability to maintain her family's needs.

To help ease this burden, and so Nicole can focus on her health and treatment, we are raising money to support her to pay for household expenses, childcare, groceries, and any additional medical expenses. This way, Nicole can focus on her healing journey and spending precious time with her beautiful children.

Nicole has spent most of her life helping others; as a Mom, as a friend, and during her time working in the community as a case worker, helping so many people get the help they needed.

An example of her compassionate nature is this past Christmas holiday, when she bought an entire spread of Christmas gifts and decorations for someone's 9 year old daughter so they could have something to open and enjoy. This is the kind of person Nicole is! If you know her, you love her.

She is also attempting to finish college so she can go back to the community health work, a huge passion of hers for many years. Her goal is to open services for other working parents to help them live a more fulfilling life. Let's show her how deserving and loved she is!
