**UPDATE**

Nathan is still in the hospital struggling to stay awake on his own. He's been asleep during most of his days, doctors have tried to wake him but want him to be able to wake up fully on his own, so they are giving him time to heal. Speaking with Heather, they have given him a tracheostomy instead of a breathing tube to help him be more comfortable, but he still is unable to talk. Thank you for your time. I am writing this for some dear friends, Nathan Rossing and Heather Fick. On Monday, April 20th, Nathan fell and hit his head and was knocked unconscious. Heather called 911 and he was taken by ambulance to Lake City Mayo. When he arrived, they did a CT scan and found he had 2 brain bleeds and said he needed more care, so they flew him to St. Mary's in Rochester. Upon arrival, he received another CT scan, where they discovered he had a massive hematoma on the left side of his brain and needed emergency surgery to save his life. As of now, he is still sleeping. The doctors had him awake for about 15-20 minutes today, but are taking it day by day to be fully awake. At this time, only family is allowed to see him. I will be sure to update his conditions as I know them.

Currently, Heather is struggling financially, not being able to work so she can be by Nate's side. They will soon be experiencing some pretty outstanding medical bills, as well. They also have a daughter in college and a son in his last year of high school, who are worried for their dad, as any kid would be. Thankfully the demands of high school and college keep them distracted. But Heather shouldn't have to worry about anything but making sure Nate is okay and being there for him.
