Hello and thank you for helping with this fundraiser for the Florestant family. Nassim (Jacob) was born with a heart defect at birth and had two open heart surgeries including a Fontan Procedure. He is now 19 and has taken medication for his heart all of his life. Unfortunately, his heart is tired and not working like it should. After many tests and a few trips to the ER, they have determined that he needs a heart & liver transplant. The medicine that he has been on for years has taken its toll on his liver which he why he requires that as well.

As you can imagine his parents Thierry and Ruth have been by his side since he went to the ER on February 28, 2026. He was recently put on ECMO to help his heart and lungs rest while letting his body gain the strength it needs to accept the transplants. They are not sure when he will get his transplants and he will likely be in the hospital until he receives them. They are at a hospital in Gainesville, that is over three hours from their home in Northport. Thankfully, Thierry and Ruth are able to stay at the Ronald McDonald house near the hospital. They take shifts staying with him and are very active in his care.

They are in need of some financial assistance during this difficult time. This will be a long road and we hope that the funds we raise will ease the burden of the medical bills and personal needs as this could be ongoing for months.
