Standing with Mom Through Her Health Battles

Hey friends!

So I’ve started this for my mom. As some of you may know, she’s had some pretty major health issues this year, and most of you probably have no clue since she’s not one to let anyone know what’s going on with her. She very well may murder me for setting this up, lol, but I’m willing to take that risk!

At the beginning of the year, she was in heart failure. Her heart was functioning at 35 percent, she was retaining so much fluid, and the cardiologist didn’t think she was going to make it. After lots of tests and medications, her heart is now functioning at 54 percent! But she needs a valve replacement, which has to happen in Santa Rosa, and there obviously will be a recovery time.

On top of her heart issues, she also needs both hips replaced, which is another mess. She has pins in both hips from when she was a child 50 years ago that have shifted and are causing her to be in constant pain. Also, add on that one of them has necrosis. So walking, sitting, and laying down is extremely painful. Unfortunately, she can’t start that process until she gets her heart surgery.

Now let’s add on the wound that developed on her leg from all the fluid she had retained. It caused some of the varicose veins around her ankle to open up and cause a sore that she has to go in for wound treatments where they scrape and debride the wound—also very painful!
Downside is no surgery till that’s healed, and the doctor wants her off her feet as much as possible to elevate the legs.

So with her business, she’s on her feet standing up at the arena teaching most of the day. For any of you that know my mother, she’s a stubborn, hard-headed little thing that is trying to keep her business going and stay on top of her health issues. She’s under a lot of stress and in pain 24/7.
She has never asked for help. She’s the strongest person I know. She’s there for everyone. She’s always taking care of her family and her students that have been riding with her for over 20 years.

The goal with this GoFundMe is to help cover some of the expenses of running the farm. She’s had to cut back quite a few lessons, but as we all know, that doesn’t mean the overhead of feeding 20 horses drops, the cleaning up after them stops, or everything else that comes with keeping the farm going.

Shes got a long road to recovery at this point and anything helps! ❤️

Update on my mom…she had her angiogram done yesterday morning and has had complications, what went from a short visit at the hospital has turned into being admitted for 24 hours. She had bleeding from the vein in her groin where they went in at, they got it under control yesterday but I just got a phone call that bleeding has started again, and they are giving her 2 bags of blood, and waiting to see if she will need surgery to fix it…. On top of all that she just got informed her insurance will not be covering all of this. Please send all your healing thoughts and share this, she’s going to be hit some very large medical bills as well now.
