On Thursday December 18th, 2025, my mom was diagnosed with Stage 1 - Ocular Melanoma.
"Ocular melanoma (eye melanoma) is a rare but aggressive cancer developing in pigment cells (melanocytes) in the eye, most often in the uvea (middle layer), but also on the iris, conjunctiva, or eyelid."
Over the past month my mom had experienced her vision getting excessively blurry in her left eye. With this sudden change in vision this effected my moms work life and home life. She is a part time caregiver for my 93 year old, Great Grandmother and part-time works. In the conditions that she is in she unfortunately will no longer be able to work and properly operate a vehicle without having help.
Just after celebrating her 53rd birthday this diagnosis was completely out of the blue. While Ocular Melanoma is thankfully treatable with radiation and surgery, she now more than ever needs support and the help financially for receiving the radiation and surgery costs, travel and transportation costs, lodging post-surgery, and overall for her day to day life now that she is no longer able to work.
I truly believe everyone deserves a fighting chance, if you can please help and support in any kind of way so she can obtain hers. We would be so thankful.
