Support Mike Miller’s Fight Against AML
Hi everyone, my name is Riley Carter, and I am reaching out to ask for your support for my Uncle, Mike Miller, and his family.
Last week, Mike received the life-changing diagnosis of Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). He has been admitted to the U of M Hospital to begin intensive treatment as he fights toward remission.
While we are hopeful, the road ahead is long:
Treatment: After his initial hospital stay, Mike will require ongoing outpatient treatments.
The Goal: All efforts are currently focused on preparing Mike for a bone marrow transplant.
Travel: While some care may happen locally, frequent trips to U of M will be a necessary part of his recovery.
Work: Mike will be unable to work for the foreseeable future, placing a significant strain on the family's finances.
As Mike fights this battle in Ann Arbor, his wife, Carrie, will be balancing working and caring for their 15-year-old son, Kayden, back home in Roscommon. She’ll be traveling back and forth as much as possible to be by Mike’s side, managing the household and the mounting medical expenses simultaneously.
If you grew up in or live in Roscommon now, you likely know Mike. He is a lifelong resident who has spent decades pouring his heart and soul into this community. Whether he was coaching youth sports, volunteering with local groups, helping at local events, or being the first person to show up when a neighbor needed a hand, Mike has always given his time and heart to others.
Now, Mike and his family are the ones in need of a helping hand
How You Can Help
The health burden of AML is heavy enough; we want to help lighten the financial load so Mike can focus entirely on healing. You can support the Miller family by:
Donating: Any amount helps cover medical bills, travel costs, and daily expenses.
Praying: We believe in the power of community prayer for Mike’s strength and successful treatment.
Sharing: Please help us spread the word by sharing Mike’s journey with your friends, family, and social networks.
Thank you for your generosity, your prayers, and for standing with the Miller family during this difficult time.
