Dear Family and Friends,

I am writing to share some difficult news regarding my cousin, Michael Hernandez, and to ask for your support during this challenging time.

Two weeks ago, Michael suffered a major stroke that unexpectedly changed his life in an instant. He has lost movement on one side of his body and is currently facing significant difficulties with speaking, writing, and walking. He is now in a rehabilitation center, beginning what will be a very long and intensive recovery process.

As many of you know, Michael works as a lineman—a physically demanding job he likely will not be able to return to due to the severity of the stroke. Consequently, he is facing a mounting financial burden. In addition to his regular monthly insurance premiums, he has incurred several medical bills that insurance did not cover. Once he is discharged from the hospital, he will also face the ongoing cost of specialized transportation to and from his rehabilitation sessions.

While his mother is doing everything she can to support him, she is disabled and vision-impaired, and the government assistance she receives is limited. We are starting a GoFundMe campaign to provide Michael with the financial stability he needs to survive and focus on his health while he navigates this long journey toward recovery and eventually seeks a new career path.
