Our dear friend Mellisa Lopez has recently been diagnosed with bilateral breast cancer, a completely unexpected and life-altering diagnosis for her and her family.

Mellisa is a devoted wife and mother, who shares both financial and caregiving responsibilities with her husband. Together, they support their family, but without Mellisa’s income, meeting their household needs will become significantly more difficult.

Mellisa is a Flight Paramedic who has dedicated the majority of her life to serving others. She began her career in 1998 as an EMT in the United States Air Force, serving for 10 years before transitioning to civilian service. She later earned her paramedic license and has spent the past 15 years working as a paramedic, recently has achieved the status of flight paramedic.

Anyone who knows Mellisa knows she is one of the most humble, compassionate, and selfless people you could ever meet. She never asks for help, and she is always the first to step forward when someone else is in need. Now, during this incredibly difficult and uncertain time, Mellisa and her family will need support as she focuses on treatment and healing.
