My name is Melinda Rodriquez, I’m 45 years old -
I’ve always worked multiple jobs to make ends meet. On Christmas Eve, I woke up for my night shift with a headache but went to work anyway. While there, I began getting progressively worse, developing a fever, and became lethargic and disoriented. That’s the last thing I remember.
I woke up six days later in the ICU. I had COVID pneumonia, sepsis which rapidly was turning into septic shock. I spent 11 days in the hospital. It was a life-changing experience, and I am truly blessed to be alive.
Before this, I was working three jobs. Now, I’m unable to work at all while I focus on recovery and rebuilding my strength. This was completely unexpected, and I’m unsure how I’ll make ends meet until I’m able to return to work. I’m working on my mobility every day, but this has been incredibly hard—especially since I’ve never been through anything like this before.
I’m reaching out for help during this difficult time. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a huge difference. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this. Every blessing counts—your support means more than I can express.
Thank you so much for your time, kindness, and support.
