Megan is one of those people who would never ask for help herself, which is exactly why I am asking for her.
Yesterday, as I was baptized, Megan sat beside me in church — quiet, present, and taking it all in. Today, I felt strongly in my heart that I needed to reach out to her, and after talking with her, what I already knew became even more clear: she is walking through one of the hardest seasons of her life, and she is carrying it with more strength and grace than most people could imagine.
For the past 12 years, Megan has been fighting a long and painful battle with her health. What started as ongoing symptoms slowly turned into something much bigger, leading to a recent week-long admission at Ohio State University Medical Center, where she underwent extensive testing. This alone is going to place a significant financial burden on her and her family, on top of the ongoing care she continues to need.
She is currently battling:
• A brain tumor
• CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome)
• POTS
• Chronic migraines
• And several other ongoing health complications
Despite all of this, Megan still wakes up every day trying to be the best wife and mother she can be while carrying a burden that most people never see.
Because of her health, she is currently on medical leave from work, and the financial strain is becoming overwhelming. Medical bills, treatments, travel expenses, medications, and lost income are adding up quickly. While she is fighting to simply feel okay, the weight of everything else continues to grow.
If you know Megan, you know she has a beautiful heart and would be the first person to help someone else in their time of need. Now she is the one who needs people to show up for her.
