I’m creating this GoFundMe to support my niece and her husband during one of the hardest moments a family can face. Their sweet 8-year-old son Maverick Leal recently underwent open-heart surgery. While the surgery was necessary and successful, the road to recovery is long, emotional, and overwhelming.

Right now, both parents are not working so they can stay by their son’s side, supporting him through healing, hospital stays, and follow-up care. As you can imagine, the medical expenses, daily bills, and unexpected costs don’t stop during times like this.

This fund is to help ease some of that financial burden, so they can focus on what truly matters—being present for their son, giving him comfort, strength, and love as he recovers.
