Matt Bleakley recently underwent emergency surgery in Florida to remove a brain tumor. Following surgery, a biopsy revealed that the tumor is an aggressive medulloblastoma, a cancerous diagnosis that has completely changed his and his family’s lives. In the coming weeks, Matt will begin six weeks of radiation treatment, followed by chemotherapy, with an estimated treatment period of six to nine months. This fundraiser is to help support Matt through the long road ahead, including medical expenses, travel, and daily living costs during treatment. Any donation, share, or message of support means more than words can express. Thank you for standing with Matt during this incredibly difficult time.
Matt is a beloved son, brother to Noah and Mike, boyfriend to Jessie, and friend. Matt is one of the kindest people who has the great ability to form a new friendship easily with the way he connects to others in such a genuine way. He is intelligent and shows it through his thoughtful actions, meaningful insights and advice. Matt is funny in a way that brings people together and is always a good time; If you’ve ever been on the receiving end of Matt’s side-eye you know you’re in for a scheme. He knows how to have fun and make the most of every moment.
Cape cod holds a special place in Matt’s heart, offering him some of his favorite memories. Matt is a retired lifeguard of Dennis beach, frequent flyer to the local bars, and avid golfer. When he isn’t out on the course or at the driving range you will catch Matt practicing his swing with his invisible club. Cape cod inspired Matt along with his brothers (and Conor) to start a clothing company turning their love of the Cape into something tangible. Matt has a big heart and deep appreciation for both the simple joys and big dreams in life.
To Matt,
you are so loved and appreciated. Fight hard, we’ll see you on cape next summer.
