Standing with Mama Malyn Through Her Treatment
$2,016 raised of
Family and friends,
We hope you were able to spend the holidays with the people you love. We are writing with heavy hearts to share the most difficult news our family has ever faced.
Our beloved mother, Mama Malyn, has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Brain Cancer. She has multiple tumors and lesions in her brain and is currently admitted at Chonghua Medical Hospital – Mandaue, where she is receiving IMRT (Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy) to help slow the disease and keep her comfortable.
What began months ago as subtle changes—mood swings, dizziness, migraines—gradually worsened. Mama has always been strong and stubborn in the most loving way, often refusing medical help. By November 16, her condition declined significantly, and we rushed her to the hospital fearing a stroke.
After extensive testing and multiple medical opinions, we received devastating news. While one tumor tested benign, a larger and more aggressive mass deep in her brain, along with multiple lesions, cannot be biopsied or removed due to extreme risk. Because of this, curative treatment is no longer possible.
During the week of Christmas, Mama’s condition declined rapidly. On December 27, her oxygen levels dropped critically, and she has remained hospitalized since.
Doctors have given us a limited time prognosis of 3–6 months, and if a miracle happens, possibly up to a year. This may be Mama’s last New Year with us.
Why We Are Asking for Help
As difficult as it is to ask, our funds are quickly running out.
As her children, we have been doing everything we can to sustain Mama’s medical care, exhausting our savings and resources. However, the financial burden has grown heavier each day and is no longer something we can carry alone.
Mama has been in and out of the hospital since Nov 16 and is currently admitted. The hospital requires daily full payment for treatments and care. The costs of radiation, medications, imaging, oxygen support, and 24-hour care are overwhelming. My parents rely solely on my father's small commission and their pension, which is no longer enough.
We hope to:
• Continue Mama’s treatments as long as they help
• Keep her comfortable, stable, and pain-free
• Spend the precious time we have left with her without the constant fear of running out of funds
All donations will go directly toward hospital bills, daily treatments, medications, and supportive care.
From the Bottom of Our Hearts
Mama has always been the one who cared for everyone else. She was our strength, our anchor, our home. Now, we are doing everything we can to be strong for her.
If you are unable to donate, we humbly ask for your prayers—for healing, comfort, and peace—and for strength for our family during this unimaginable time.
Thank you for reading, sharing, praying, and standing with us.
We appreciate and love you more than words can express.
With gratitude and hope,
The Family of Mama Malyn
