My father, Luis García Grajeda, was born in 1971 and has always lived his life centered around family, loyalty, and quiet strength. He is the second youngest of nine siblings, a role that shaped him into someone who learned early how to care for others while asking for very little in return. Later in life, he became what he is most proud of being: a father of three children, always present, always dependable.
In December of 2023, our world changed when Luis was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Since then, every day has been a fight that he faces with the same calm, easygoing spirit he has always had. Even in the hardest moments, he still finds room for humor, still tries to ease the worries of those around him, still puts his family first.
The reality of this illness, however, comes with constant medical needs. Frequent hospital visits, treatments, and daily medical services have created an overwhelming financial burden. These expenses add up quickly and have made it difficult for our family to focus solely on what matters most: his care, comfort, and time together.
We are asking for help to cover ongoing medical expenses, including hospital trips and necessary services that allow Luis to continue receiving care. Any contribution, no matter the size, will directly support his medical needs and help ease the weight on our family during this incredibly difficult time.
If you are unable to donate, sharing this campaign also means more than we can express. We also want to share that a kermes will be held for Luis at a later date as another way to support him. Details will be announced once arrangements are made.
Thank you for taking the time to read my father’s story, for your kindness, and for standing with us as we navigate this journey together.
