If you know Luis “Luda,” you know he’s the kind of person who gives more than he ever asks for.
Over the past year, Luda was diagnosed with Stage 1 Colon Cancer and underwent surgery believing it would be behind him. Unfortunately, post-surgical findings revealed the cancer had spread to his lymph nodes, changing his diagnosis to Stage 3 Colon Cancer.
Since then, Luda has been undergoing chemotherapy every two weeks, wearing a pump for three days at a time that delivers chemo continuously through his port. The treatments are exhausting and often leave him unable to work while his body recovers.
Recently, changes to his insurance coverage mean his chemotherapy is no longer fully covered, forcing Luda to begin paying out of pocket to continue treatment. Over the last year, he has already drained his savings—first for surgery, and then to survive financially during the many days he could not work.
Luda works in commission-based motorcycle sales and drives Uber when he’s able, but both require him to feel his best—something chemotherapy does not always allow.
We are asking for help because Luda would never ask himself.
To many, he’s been a softball teammate, tennis partner, skydiving instructor, fishing buddy, and motorcycle enthusiast. To all, he’s been a loyal, generous friend.
Funds raised will help Luda:
- Complete his final chemotherapy treatments
- Cover his port removal surgery
- Pay essential bills during times he cannot work due to treatment and recovery
Any donation—no matter the size—will make a meaningful difference. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser is just as powerful.
Thank you for standing with Luda.
