I’m creating this for my sister, brother-in-law, and Lincoln. They are way too prideful to ask for help, but during a time like this, it’s absolutely needed.
The other evening, Lincoln was involved in an accident that resulted in him being engulfed in flames and his entire body catching on fire. His dad and brother immediately reacted and made attempts to put the fire out. He was rushed to the hospital and transported to a second hospital by ambulance to be treated. Lincoln is currently on his second surgery, being treated for 2nd- and 3rd-degree burns. He has undergone 3 debridement surgeries to scrape the badly burned areas and deep clean them, with another possible surgery for skin grafting and a blood transfusion. The hospital staff at Children’s said that Lincoln is very lucky to still be here, and they’re unsure at this point how long his road to recovery will be. After Lincoln is discharged, they will still have weekly follow-up appointments at the Burn Clinic, along with physical therapy and occupational therapy.
Carla and Bruce have not left Lincoln’s side this entire time, which means Bruce has not been to work. On top of the hospital bills for Lincoln, the other 4 children who are waiting for their brother to come home, the regular day-to-day bills don’t stop. If anyone knows the Tillman family, then you know Carla is a devoted stay-at-home mom who always goes above and beyond for her family and everyone around her. And Bruce is extremely hardworking and always puts his family first; missing work is not a part of his world. So, you can imagine how hard this entire situation is on them.
They don’t know that I’m creating this yet because I know they would ask me not to, but sometimes you have to force the help on those people who are always the strong ones and never ask for help. So, if anyone can help out the Tillman family during this time of need, I know it would mean the world to them.
