Our community is coming together for someone who has given so much to all of us.

McAllen Association of Realtors’s beloved Programs and Events Director, **Laura Castro**, has always been the heart behind so many of the moments that bring us together — the events, the connections, the celebrations, the service. Now, she needs us.

Since November 2025, Laura has been courageously battling breast cancer. On December 18th, she received devastating news that her cancer had grown and six additional lumps had been found. In an instant, her world — and the world of her family — changed.

Yet through it all, Laura continues to fight with unwavering strength, faith, and determination. In her own words:

> “I continue fighting one of the hardest battles of my life after receiving news on Dec. 18th that my breast cancer had grown and 6 additional lumps had been found. I strongly believe and stay faithful that I will overcome this and be a testament of God’s glory and grace. I am fighting with strength, faith, and determination every single day.”

Behind that strength is a family doing everything they can to stay mentally and physically afloat during an incredibly difficult time. The outpouring of love, prayers, and encouragement has meant more than words can express — but the journey ahead is long.

We are raising funds to help cover Laura’s weekly travel and medically necessary treatment expenses as she continues this fight. Every appointment, every mile traveled, every treatment comes with emotional and financial weight.
