Fourteen-year-old Landon has already faced battles that most people never will. As a brave patient at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital he has endured two life-saving brain surgeries in his fight against brain cancer. Each procedure came with long hospital stays, painful recoveries, and months of uncertainty—but Landon never stopped fighting. Now, just as he hoped for calmer days, he’s preparing for two more surgeries on his knees due to a genetic disorder that is causing his bones and cartilage to break down. Doctors have also discovered black spots in his bones, and biopsies are being done to rule out anything more. After everything he has already overcome, this is yet another mountain for him to climb.

Through it all, the one thing that keeps Landon’s spirit strong is the outdoors. Fishing at sunrise and sitting quietly in a deer stand during hunting season give him peace when the world feels heavy. He loves turkey and deer hunting and hopes with all his heart he’ll be strong enough to hunt again this year. His parents work hard, but together they bring home only $1,600 a month—just enough to cover basic bills.
